Supported Projects

Besides an environmental concern and a local development policy, Apani Dhani supports projects dedicated to three themes: firstly education but also environment and architectural heritage protection. The eco-lodge devotes 5% of room rates to these actions, an approach also encouraged by some guests.

 Currently supported projects

Indo International School – Since 2007
This school, located in Dundlod, a small village at 7 km from Apani Dhani Eco-lodge, provides free education to children from deprived backgrounds regardless of their casts and creeds. Founded in 1996 by several persons and organizations convinced that only education can allow these children to think of a future out of their impoverished conditions; among them: R.E.A.D society, in Jaipur.

Today, this school welcomes about 500 children up to 12h standard.

In addition to providing basic education, its goal is to give under-privileged children a quality education with English-taught programmes, a stepping-stone towards reducing social inequalities.

Kasturba Sewa Sansthan – Since 2007

Located in Sikar town, at 27km from Nawalgarh, this orphanage was founded by Mrs. Sumitra Sharma in 1990. Its main goal is to provide shelter for abandoned, orphaned and disabled children. The centre ensures accommodation, food, clothing and schooling or vocational training, according to age. Four times awarded by the district administration for its work excellence, Kasturba Sewa Sansthan accommodates some 50 boys and girls.

Our approach

Every year, each structure is asked to provide a list of its budgeted needs.

The support is mostly going to equipment purchase thus allowing an effective monitoring. We purchase ourselves the required equipment.

The relevance of the support and the need to renew it are reviewed annually.

In December 2005, Ramesh C. Jangid, Apani Dhani Ecolodge owner, has created a foundation, Samarpan, “commitment” in Hindi.

Due to legal issues, this foundation is centralizing the donations from Indian nationals only. Foreign funding is administered by the association "Friends of Shekhawati" or goes directly towards the supported projects.
