tourism. The society's recent focus includes a travel consumer awareness campaign. Good website.

Ecoclub (http://ecoclub.com) International ecotourism club uniting ecotourists, ecotourism experts and
ecotourism providers worldwide.


Ethical Tourism

ATES 
(www.tourismesolidaire.org): Association pour le Tourisme Equitable et Solidaire (France) = Association for Fair and solidarity tourism.
ATES brings together associations selected on the basis of a grid of high ethical standards and sharing the same approach: to implement a tourism development bringing aid to local host regions, as part of a close partnership with local communities and their representatives.

 EARTH (http://earth-net.eu): the European Alliance for Responsible Tourism and Hospitality is the first European Network created by experts of responsible tourism. The network brings to life the principles of sustainability, fairness and solidarity in the tourism field, by promoting the exchange of good practices, experience and knowledge among its members

Retour Foundation (www.retour.net) : a Dutch organization whose goal is to promote sustainable tourism. Retour has also developed a Tourism Planning Method which takes empowerment and participation of local people as its key elements.

Tourism Concern (www.tourismconcern.org.uk) A UK based non-profit organisation that works for more responsible and sustainable tourism.

Equations (www.equitabletourism.org) An Indian non-profit organisation established for research, training and promotion of holistic tourism and work htowards transforming the inherently expletive nature of mass commercial tourism.


Environment

 CSE  (www.cseindia.org): the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) is a public interest research and advocacy organisation based in New Delhi. CSE researches into, lobbies for and communicates the urgency of development that is both sustainable and equitable.

Navdanya  (www.navdanya.org) : a Delhi based organisation, Navdanya works for conservation of bodiversity, promotion of poison free agriculture and fair trade.

 CO2 solidaire (www.co2solidaire.org): After reducing our greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) as much as possible by changing our life style, using technological advances or reorganizing our activities, some emissions remain.  Carbon compensation consists in spending on a project in a developing country, a saving of GHG equivalent to these residual emissions, for which we wish to limit the impact on the climate. A website for volontary compensation.


Solidarity and heritage conservation

Dakshinayan (http://www.dakshinayan.org) : a non profit, non religious, organisation providing basic education and health care to tribal and other rural communities in India. It also provides international and intercultural solidarity and a better understanding of myth and reality of "third world poverty" through its developement education programmes. A trustworthy organisation and an interesting website. 
 

Indo International school  (www.indointernational.org): I.I.S. is a free secular institute that has been working successfully for the economically and socially deprived children

The Friends of Shekhawati :  A non profit association for the safeguard of the wall paintings and heritage of Shekhawati region ( Rajasthan -India).The association is also involved in promoting a responsible tourism through awarness campain among tourists as well as locals.The Friends of Shekhawati also finances the education of children in need.

 INTACH  (www.intach.org): the Indian National Trust For Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) is a non-profit organization set up in 1984 to involve its members in protecting and conserving India’s vast natural, built and cultural heritage. An INTACH Shekhawati Chapter has been founded by Ramesh C. Jangid in 2004. Apani Dhani Ecolodge is the head office of the Chapter. The dedicated website is  www.shekhawati-intach.org
