Discovery stays

We welcome you, of course, for the duration of your choice and you can take part in the activities you desire.

However, our approach reveals its full meaning to those who spend a little time to soak up the local atmosphere, discover the region and its traditions and interact with local people.

A few examples, as an illustration…

 3 days / 2 nights

J1. Nawalgarh and its surroundings

In the morning, visit of Nawalgarh, which offers a small-town feel and some of the region most outstanding havelis.

In the afternoon, camel cart excursion (traditional means of transport) through the surrounding countryside up to Dundlod. Visit of the village. Night at Apani Dhani.

J2. Introductory workshops to local art and crafts led by villagers. Several possibilities: tie-dye, bangles, etc. A privileged moment of exchange.

In the morning, "tie-dye" workshop, traditional technique of dyeing textile from Rajasthan and Gujarat. This interactive workshop, taking place at Apani Dhani and led by a local craftsman, will provide an introduction to this skill. You will discover every step, from printing simple patterns to dyeing and make for yourself or your near and dear, some pretty scarves.

In the afternoon, two workshops: bangle making — traditional bracelets worn by married women — and woodcarving.

In the evening, small Indian classical singing concert performed by a Nawalgarh-born musician. Night at Apani Dhani.

J3. In the morning, cooking class at Apani Dhani given by the younger son of the house or his wife. Lunch and early afternoon departure.
